In a recent development, the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police has apprehended a suspect involved in an online fraud case related to helicopter booking. Siddharth Agarwal, a resident of Newtown, filed a written complaint with the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police on October 28, detailing an incident that occurred on October 22.
Agarwal reported that he found a contact number on a website offering helicopter bookings to Kedarnath. Upon calling the number, he expressed his desire to book round-trip tickets and was instructed to deposit Rs 11,000 into a specified account.
Subsequently, he received a fake receipt, and when he attempted to contact the accused again, he was advised to make another booking with the promise of a refund for the initial payment. Realizing he had been deceived, Aggarwal lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police, leading to the arrest of a suspect identified as Navneet Yadav.
